Hi, I wrote an article that has been proposed for merger with one of yours. Mostly the facts seem consistent. But what is the source of your 230-km estimate for length? Do you have recent information or personal knowledge? My information is third hand---I based the 214-km estimate in the related article on a table of cave lengths that is sourced and appears to be frequently updated. The difference is currently significant because 214 km would tie it with Jewel Cave for second place worldwide; 230 km would put it alone in second after Mammoth. - I was given this figure in a conversation, though I'm not sure whether I should trust it. The most recent length that Google knows about seems to be 220 km. I suppose that the Cyklop speleoclub would be the authoritative source here, as they are the official keepers of the cave, but I haven't been able to find any contact to them. · Naive cynic · 20:09, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Better source request for Image:JECA formations.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:JECA formations.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. MECU≈talk 19:14, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 17:24, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Art Jewelry Forum
[edit]Hello, I am working on a pet project to help digitize information about the field of metalsmithing+jewelry. I started with making a page for Art jewelry forum (AJF), and have a list of artists that I would like to make pages for as well. The AJF page has been nominated for deletion because it is questioned if the organization is "notable". I am reaching out to you because I saw that you edited some pages that relate to studio craft, and thought you may have an informed opinion (unlike the mathematician who nominated the page for deletion) about whether or not it is a "notable organization". If you have an opinion, one way or another, please way in on the articles for deletion discussion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Art_jewelry_forumClarefinin (talk) 21:18, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
