Merger
[edit]Much of what is here is already on The Amityville Horror. Since the movie is essentially the same as the book, much of the info here is duplicated on that page, and I feel that this page could easily be merged. Any Thoughts? Gershwinrb 06:27, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:The Amityville Horror poster.JPG
[edit]Image:The Amityville Horror poster.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sequel
[edit]I was on The New York Times website one day and I looked up The Amityville Horror 2 (2010) an article came up and said it was announced. I went to look for it as a reference and it's not there, or I didn't do it right. I found another site that has some info on it. Could someone find more references for it.--VampireKen (talk) 17:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Differences between 2005, original, and book
[edit]First, per WP:MOSFILM#Adaptation from source material, we should not be merely listing the differences between this film and another film, or even this film and the original source material. Real world context needs to be provided (e.g., why they chose to change something, how people reacted to those changes, etc.). So, there can be no personal observations sourced by the films themselves, or the books. The entire section, as it stands right now, probably needs to be removed until sources that discuss the reasons for the changes (you may find them on the DVD bonus features) can be attained. Reactions to said changes in a film can usually be found by critics who remember the original film, or the source material. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 16:22, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
