A couple of changes
[edit]Just to explain a couple of changes I've just made - I think it's important to say 'the European mainland's only active volcanoes' in the intro, rather than just 'Europe's only active volcanoes', because Iceland and Greece also have active volcanoes. And also, I trimmed the sentence 'Three of its volcanoes have erupted in the last 100 years and are considered active' to just 'Three of its volcanoes have erupted in the last 100 years', because it's not just those three that are considered active. Particularly, Vulcano, Ferdinandea and the Campi Flegrei are definitely considered active. Worldtraveller 23:38, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Proposed merge with List of volcanoes in Italy
[edit]I oppose the merger. While both pages should be expanded, I feel they should go in different directions. This article is also probably too listy already, and doubling the number of volcanoes covered would make this worse. -- Avenue 11:05, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Avenue, this article should be expanded and go in different directions apart from the list. It should be similar to the other articles, sush as Volcanism in Canada and Volcanism in Iceland. Black Tusk 02:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll rename it to Volcanism in Italy and remove the merge tag. -- Avenue 03:11, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Merge Campanian volcanic arc?
[edit]I'm happy to recognise that these could be distinct articles, but I can also see that there will be a lot of overlap, so I thought I'd see what people thought to a merger. I'm mildly in favour, but am happy to go with whatever is the convention in the Volcano Project. FlagSteward (talk) 13:08, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- I don't really think that it's a good idea, because the article on the Campanian volcanic arc is about a place, and Volcanism of Italy is about the volcanic activity in Italy. I think it would be best just to have a link to the Campanian volcanic arc in the "see also" section. --The High Fin Sperm Whale (talk) 16:42, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Monte Albano Volcano (Alban Hills volcano complex) near Rome
[edit]In the map not present the Monte Albano volcano, near Rome (Alban Hills) it's active volcano but quiescent like vesuvio, pantelleria, vulcano, ecc..
Last eruption of Alban Hills in Albano lake crater occured 5,000 BC.
—Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.60.131.219 (talk) 00:00, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
