Memorial?
[edit]My brother died on the USS PALMER when it sank in 1945. I was 10 years old at the time. This is my first visit to this website. I would like to contact any survivors and get as much info as I can about the ship. I would also like to get a photo of the ship. I appreciate any info.
Thank you sincerely, Billy Blanton
I just received my Grandfather's Navy records that state he was on board the USS Palmer when it sank. I remember stories about it when I was a kid, but never knew the facts. Is there a USS Palmer Memorial or anything?
Thanks for your time,

Met an Old Vet Today while on line at the Post office, saw he was wearing some naval pins on his hat, and he said he serve in the Navy I, I thanked him for his service and he told me he served on the USS Palmer, and was on it when it got hit , he said a jap plane came in low and dropped two bombs , were able to shoot one of it's engine's out but it had already released two bombs one of which hit the ship . All he remembers was that he woke up in the water and started swimming to a life boat. and said the ship went down fast. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.29.220.79 (talk) 17:48, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
