Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Collectivism (communist)
Collectivism (communist) was proposed for deletion. This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was DELETE
First, this page is entirely redundant with the main collectivism article. Second, its only purpose seems to be the presentation of the author's POV. Every piece of useful information within it has already been discussed in the main article, and the rest is POV. As such, Collectivism (communist) is a waste of server space. -- Mihnea Tudoreanu 18:29, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, this is an attempt to censor based on POV, plain and simple. Sam [Spade] 21:49, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Is it somehow wrong to wish to delete an article that is irremediably POV (starting from its very title), when a much better article on that topic exists? -- Mihnea Tudoreanu 15:04, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I can compromise on merger and redirect. Sam [Spade] 15:22, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- The merger is already on the way; the redirect is unnecessary (presumably, a reader will not look for "collectivism (communist)" before looking for "collectivism"). -- Mihnea Tudoreanu 15:36, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Someone may have already linked to it in this way, and thus a redirect would be more advantageous. Sam [Spade] 16:23, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Check the article's "what links here" page and you'll see that no one has linked to it - keep in mind that the article was only created 2 days ago. The only links towards it are from the main collectivism page and from right here on VfD. -- Mihnea Tudoreanu 16:38, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- Keep, well though it's obvious that since I wrote it, I'd like to keep it, but the argument is that it is believed this page is redundant because no such thing as economic collectivism exists. To refute this, I cite: Merriam-Webster Dictionary and Catholic Encyclopedia. User:Thewojewoda (sig added by Sam [Spade] 22:24, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC))
- Delete redundant article. Gazpacho 23:48, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: Pretty solitary point of view so far as I can tell (and I am a pinko). Is the author trying to distinguish communalism with communism? (The new communalism movement is social and about neighborhoods and the like and has no political aspect.) "Collectivism" is the establishment of collectives, whether a small farm in Israel or a big factory in the USSR. At any rate, this article is essayistic. Geogre 01:15, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- FYI "collectivism" is also (at least in the US) an antonym of individualism. Gazpacho
- Delete. Article is redundant with collectivism, and is considerably less wikified. --Improv 09:39, 31 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Redundant article. jni 06:38, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)
