this original work?
[edit]Is this original work, or copied from somewhere? -- Zoe
- Nobody ever answered Zoe, but I removed a few POV sentences and:
- While Miki's constant neurotic whining can be draining and the series is nothing special to look at, Marmalade Boy's level of soap opera-worthy dramatics cannot be topped even by other contenders like Fushigi Yuugi. While many viewers are turned off by Miki's attitudes and the repetitive nature of the story, Marmalade Boy rarely fails to engage the emotions of its audience and keep the viewer watching.
- Because there may be something useful and NPOV there to be extracted, but it isn't there now. Tokerboy
Standardized names
[edit]I have standardized the romanization of character names to coincide with what is used in the Tokyopop English-language releases to remain consistent with what is on the shelves, as per [1]. Most importantly: Yuu, not Yū. -- Miwa * talk * contribs ^_^ 19:11, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
AMCOTW
[edit]information needs organization; character introductions should be separated out of the plot section rather than mixed in
- That's good advice, but how do we go about doing that without butchering the Plot section? (or maybe we should butcher the plot section) --Squilibob 06:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- Reading over the Plot section, IMO I think it's fine (although I did add this item to the to-do template, this was because it was one of the reasons it was nominated). I would think it's okay to have in the summary including an introduction to characters as it illustrates the character's position within the story. --Miss Ethereal 14:16, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Kanzenban?
[edit]What the hell does kanzenban mean? Is it a place? There's no article for the word. It needs to be replaced by something a little less unheard of.--SeizureDog 02:53, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- "Kanzenban" (完全版) means "final" or "ultimate" edition. It's usually a much nicer release, and contains extra items not found in the original release. It's also commonly a larger format than the original. That's what the hell it means. (^_-) ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:19, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. With that in mind, I made a redirect page for "Kanzenban" to lead to "Tankōbon".--SeizureDog 05:55, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Pictures!
[edit]Can someone put a picture into the infobox... the top doesn't look very happy. :( --Miss Ethereal 20:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Taiwanese Live-Action Drama
[edit]Anyone able to mention something about the Taiwanese drama based on Marmalade Boy? Maybe the Chinese title or something? QueenStupid 05:39, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- I've added some information about the drama to the article. —Lowellian (reply) 04:35, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
live-action drama response
[edit]I highly recommend not watching the series. I just saw the opening theme song and I was amazed at its level of stupidity.
Plot synopsis
[edit]This is getting too long and convoluted; something introductory would more than suffice. For detailed plot info, possibly detailed synopses of the manga and anime would be better. --BrokenSphere 00:17, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Under Construction
[edit]I've tagged the article as being under construction for the next few days while it gets a major over haul. Here is a list of things I see as needing to be done.
- Expand lead section
- Add references for existing information
- Rewrite plot to not be a teaser and include differences section to discussion changes made in anime adaptation
- Expand production details, with sourced information on manga and anime series, as well as novels if information is available
- Clean up media section and redo manga table into more standard format; consider moving manga and novels off to a List of Marmalade Boy media page if information on novels can be found enough to also put in standard tabular format with summaries
- Fill out anime and movie sections with sourced information and details on airing
- Create List of Marmalade Boy episodes article with appropriate lead section, tabular list of episodes with summaries, and DVD release information; if page is more than 40-60k after adding episode summaries, consider breaking into season pages
- Source and more info on the video game and the live movie
- Add reception section
- Clean up List of Marmalade Boy characters
Feel free to hop in an assist if you want, or let me know if I missed anything :) AnmaFinotera (talk) 21:32, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'll take on the manga listing, getting it into a more standard format (and adding release dates), since that's what I was planning on working on next. I'll see if I can find novel information while I'm at it. Will take the next day or two, though. I've also started collecting reviews for the Reception section. —Quasirandom (talk) 22:50, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- There -- did the manga and novels, though someone needs to give a kanji reading of the writer's family name (and confirm I've assigned her and Yoshizumi's roles correctly). I'm done for the night, at least here. —Quasirandom (talk) 03:34, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've updated the manga and novel tables to use our new graphic novel templates and put in some sources. I'll add summaries and chapter listings later, as well as try to tackle the intro rewrite and look for sources on the live action film and the art books. For the episodes, I can create the basic list, but someone else will need to do the summaries because I couldn't stomach it enough to watch the whole thing :P I've also cleaned up and sourced the video game info, as best I could (not sure how great a source GameFAQs is, but better than nothing). Yay for progress! AnmaFinotera (talk) 11:21, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've moved the manga off to a List of Marmalade Boy chapters with intro, image, and the first three summaries. I decided to leave the novels here as they have no summaries and probably won't get any added since they are not licensed. :( Lots more work left to do, though. :) AnmaFinotera (talk) 09:04, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Facts might be out of date
[edit]The first four episodes of Marmalade Boy have been released this week and are showing on the Anime Selects on demand cable network under as a Funnamation title. The data about the expired anime license might now be incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.223.48.88 (talk) 13:25, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
More emphasis on Marmalade Boy Little
[edit]The sequel series, to my best knowledge, is still ongoing, and may be a key point of emphasis needed for the article/group articles (i.e., chapters). Should it be included? --Loyalmoonie (talk) 05:22, 11 February 2017 (UTC)Chris
