Merge of techniques
[edit]I believe that the list of shotokan techniques should be merged due to lack of third person sources. What is everyone else thoughts?Dwanyewest (talk) 20:12, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- I would have thought the list of techniques could be an acceptable list, but with no sources it either needs to be removed or merged--and this is probably the best place to merge it to. It would be best if the techniques list could be sourced, otherwise I suggest the list should be removed since I can't see a reason to add unsourced information to the Shotokan article (especially when the list is quite long). Shotokan Karatekas
[edit]Adrian and Neil Rayment (the twins in the Matrix) also practice Shotokan, or are they not famous enough? I believe Adrian is 3rd Dan, but not sure about Neil.

Karate Associations
[edit]This article appears to be quite JKA focussed, and mentions that organizations several times but omits other major Karate organizations such as. SKIF which is probably now larger than JKA, and doesn't not provide any information on some of the key influential figures from some of these other associations such as Hirokazu Kanazawa. I'm sure the same could be said of some of the other associations. In my view it needs to be expanded to include more information on these other groups, or made more generic and have the JKA references removed.
WikiProject Karate Proposal at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Wikipedia:WikiProject Karate Suggestion
[edit]Dear editors, I am proposing a new WikiProject Karate to bring together editors with knowledge of this martial art specifically, especially due to Karate becoming an Olympic sport I think it is time to focus energy on the roughly 3500 main space articles associated with Karate. Full description of the rationale and goals can be found at the link above, please comment, discuss (and join if you support this project!) All the best, Mountaincirque 08:37, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
