Delete This article is merely a dictionary entry for an unpopular slang term among anime fans. From what I know, the entire concept is considered an annoyance in the first place. MrVacBob 01:45, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- The annoyance bit doesn't affect its encyclopedic status, but it is pretty much fancruft. Delete or merge to Fangirl Ashibaka tlk
- I wouldn't say it's an unpopular slang term, and it has spread outside of the otaku set to some extent. Still, it is a slang dictdef, with no potential for encyclopedic expansion that I can see. Transwiki and delete. — Gwalla | Talk 02:12, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Things are not unencyclopedic just because they are annoying, and I wonder where you get the idea that the slang term is unpopular. That being said, it is a slang dictdef, so if someone can nominate an appropriate page to merge it to, that is my vote. -- Antaeus Feldspar 02:19, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Who said it was unpopular? I've seen this word used plenty of times by anime fans and always in a positive way, mostly while doing the action itself. Wiki probably holds host to pleanty of possibly useless entries, and simply because a few people find the action itself annoying, is no reason to delete an entry of a perfectly usable word that's worth defining.

- Comment: I'm still puzzled by the "unpopular". Does MrVacBob mean "unpopular" in the sense of "annoying" or in the sense of "obscure"? If it's the former, it's equally irrelevant as "annoying"; if it's the latter, I'd like to see him support that contention, since it gets 29,000 Google hits. -- Antaeus Feldspar 20:23, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: "unpopular" among the general English-speaking public, not teenaged anime fans, although that Google hit count is far smaller than other jargon terms ("boxen" or "fansub", for instance). That and the second sentence were secondary to the reason for nomination anyway (the perception of it being annoying may be from my normal association with older/more jaded fans who aren't going to glomp anyone or cosplay or etc). The claims are that it's merely a dictionary entry and not further expandable, and a jargon term. MrVacBob 00:27, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Move to wiktionary - As a word definition this is better suited to a dictionary. However it is a term that's been around in some circles for at least 8-10 years. (Actually, the term already exists on wiktionary, but with less detail.) --PJF (talk) 08:01, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect - This term is pretty widespread on the Internets beyond the usually anime suspects. Doesn't deserve its own article though. NTK 15:35, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
