Anyone fancy publishing the answers? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.85.13.68 (talkcontribs) 16:58, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

That's not really going to help, since this scam of a test consists primarily of irrelevant numerical questions. All the numbers come up in the official study guide. It's a matter of remembering them: no separate list of answers is going to be any better. By the way, the test has absolutely nothing to do with "becoming British", and would be failed by almost any native British citizen who didn't study the book. --82.6.105.198 (talk) 15:44, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Answers

[edit]

The Guardian article only lists questions, not answers, and the Wikipedians who took it upon themselves to answer them need to be a little more careful.

When was Britain last invaded?

This depends on one's definition of both "Britain" and "invasion". For instance, while the Glorious Revolution is frequently called a "Bloodless Revolution", it nevertheless saw some actual fighting between William and Mary's Dutch-raised army and "British" forces. The Raid on the Medway might also very well be defined as an "invasion". 1216? Prince Louis took Winchester, was crowned and controlled almost half of England at one point. That seems fairly invasion-like to me. If they mean 'successfully' invaded, then I'd stick with 1688. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CharlieRCD (talkcontribs) 10:59, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Channel Islands? Or do they mean mainland Britain? Ddawkins73 (talk) 19:07, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, succesfully invaded, mainland Britain - that's easy: Australia invaded. Main HQ is West London. They control all the beer and you have to pay them for it now. Ddawkins73 (talk) 19:10, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Huge Wave of support

[edit]

"Fact: Mary defeated Lady Jane Grey's bid to usurp the throne with a huge wave of English support" that seems a somewhat simplistic take on it and I do not believe "huge wave" is a particularily encyclopediac term, there were many who supported Jane and some would even disagree that she sought to usurp the throne (although as I understand that is a minority opinion) either way I feel that something to the effect of Mary having not had Spanish aid in gaining the throne would be better than the current version. Update template

[edit]

Just to say that I placed the update template on this article because at the moment it makes no reference to the new, current third edition of the handbook and test. It'd be good if someone with knowledge of this subject could help by adding such information.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lordrosemount (talkcontribs) 13:55, 5 July 2013‎

Given that a third edition is now mentioned, I've removed this template. --McGeddon (talk) 19:56, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
