How the hell did this guy come up with the name "Scatman"? Kamagurka 00:28, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was a great "Scat" singer. Scat is a style of jazz vocalizing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SkyJelly (talkcontribs) 03:17, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think Kamagurka means "illustrator" in another language, I forget which. 142.166.206.103 (talk) 13:51, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removed item saying Emmett Till "sexually harassed" a white woman as the provocation for his murder. There are differing accounts of what happened, including the fact that Till's whistling, which he used to control his stuttering, may have been misinterpeted as a "wolf-call," which, even if true, hardly qualifies as "sexual harassment." As the accounts are not clear what exactly happened, it is inappropriate to label Till's behavior as sexual harassment. Jango Davis 09:51 UTC

Is this him doing the theme song? Evan1975 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Evan1975 (talkcontribs) 03:00, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dead ringer for Scatman Crothers

[edit]

In the movie 42nd Street (1933), in the "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" number, the Pullman porter collecting shoes is a dead ringer for Scatman Crothers. But that was over 20 years before Crothers' first appearance in movies (and Crothers was only 23 years old at the time).

Can anyone identify the actor in 42nd Street?

Duplication

[edit]

The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island is listed as a movie appearance and a television appearance. This is obviously because it was a made-for-TV movie, but it should probably be one or the other. 50.96.153.170 (talk) 18:41, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

His first Movie Role

Go Man Van Go

[edit]

maybe I missed it but I see no mention of Scatman taking over for Lord Buckley as the voice for Go Man Van Go on the animated series Beany & Cecil. 67.169.37.195 (talk) 19:03, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
