Question
[edit]According to [1], Mysilvecek had his nose removed towards the end of his life in a rather strange attempt to cure his VD. Obviously, it would be interesting to put this in the article, but as I've not found a corroborating source, I've left it out for now. Can anybody else find one? --Camembert
- I quote verbatim from The New Grove Dictionary of Opera, Vol. 3, page 541: "In 1777, however, he was invited to return to Munich by the Elector of Bavaria, who sponsored a production of his Ezio which was well received. While in Munich, Mysliveček sought treatment for venereal disease that resulted in his nose being burnt off. Mozart visited him in a Munich hospital in the autumn of 1777 and reported to his father that he still retained his dynamic personality ('full of fire, spirit and life') in spite of this ghastly disfigurement." Pronunciation of name
[edit]Could someone add a pronunciation (or pronunciations, if more than one is correct) of this composer's name? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.106.103.249 (talk) 18:21, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
