Is the second paragraphy useful here? It already weakens its own statement (bringing in Spanish) and all other languages I speak have an equally big number of possibilities to write the same sound (f.e. French). Jeronimo

Going back to the original version, it looks like the intent was to note that English has a number of digraphs for sounds that can be directly expressed using the Latin alphabet (ph = f; -gh = f; ee = i; ea = i; oo=u; etc). --Brion

Ah, I see. But even then, English is not an exception. It would be worthwile noting, though. Jeronimo
