Ken Dryden quitting hockey in 1973-74

According to the February, 1974 edition of the "Hockey Digest," Dryden quit the NHL in the '73-'74 season because the Montreal Canadiens wouldn't pay him the "going rate" for goaltenders despite having 1 year remaining in his contract. If this is correct, Dryden pursuing a law degree during this time was not the reason he quit, as the wiki article states, but was rather a by-product of him leaving. I don't know if this is something that should be included in the article.

Early life and hockey career

Dryden was raised in Islington-City Centre West (then just outside Toronto) and Boston traded Dryden to the Montreal Canadiens, along with Alex Campbell, for Paul Reid and Guy Allen, whom the Bruins highly valued.

Sigma Phi / Sigma Chi membership

There was an unreferenced mention of membership at a Cornell University fraternity. The original text said Sigma Phi but a recent editor said it was Sigma Chi. Neither participation was sourced so I removed it. Can anyone else shed some light on this? EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 12:46, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
